So we booked a cheap weekend away to meet up with some family. Overall I had a lovely time because of the company. I have been to two Park Holiday sites now and I will never book one again even if its cheap I do still have expectations. We …

We stayed here for a few nights as our family have a new baby and we went to visit. I can't say it was particularly nice as we didn't have the greatest experience staff were not the friendliest in the evening (the woman who took our food …

On arrival found no signs to guide you to reception, but once found was given a lovely caravan with 1 tiny fault in that the washing up bowl was cracked, reception called to ask if any problems and bowl was replaced in 15 minures of conversation. The fishing is great plenty of places to sea fish from and a lovely lake, just as long as you do not need the toilet whilst fishing, I did while fishing the lake and went to the complex 100 metres away to find both the mens and ladies outside access loos locked, so went to bar to find that also locked so asked in reception thinking they would open one or the other but was told no I would have to return to our caravan, being both 67 and a type 2 diabetes sufferer the chances of me making it that far were very slim and sure enough I for the first time in 60 years wet myself, I was not amused and it put a real dampener (pun intended) on my holiday. I don't think it unreasonable for 1 set of toilets to be left open for people to use even though its close to the end of season. There's a lot of caravans for sale at reasonable prices and the site fees very reasonable, well worth considering if you like your fishing or a countryside setting, just do not find yourself in need of a toilet. Had it not been for the toilet problem would of had no hesitation in giving it 5 stars and will probably return next year

Quiet holiday park, nice and clean close to the river, great views, park was clean and tidy. Many caravans but noise was minimal. Lots of beautiful walks, can take dogs in some caravans. Stunning sunsets, great place to get away from it …

Overall I would not recommend this holiday park, first of all its at least 30 mins away from anything, the shop on site is shocking, no essentials stocked.
We arrived and was directed to our caravan with a map, very little sinage on the park so had to figure it out ourselves. The actual caravan was OK and clean but was falling apart, the seal on the door was coming off, lights didn't work properly, one of the bedroom doors didn't open or close, the shower was rusty and full of grim. The 'superfast' internet is very basic internet at best and definitely not worth the money.
The facilities were disgusting, the 'entainment' was none existing. It was mainly a screen show for the kids to watch, a bingo session and then some inappropriate adult entertainment. The swimming pool was fully booked even when we were told no need for booking. But the reception has nothing to do with the pool. The lifeguards were rude and more interested in eating their food. The staff did nothing but complain about other staff members of other guests which could be overheard by guests.
The manager was rude and unhelpful.
We even witnessed a meeting between two staff members and would looked like a park holidays representative and we overheard the lack of respect and total disregard for the job. Even heard how the company expects each caravan to be cleaned in 15 minutes. Luckily we drove around to other areas and ventured, as there is nothing to do on the park at all.
Rooms: The caravans are old and need some tlc but are OK.
The main reception is dark and not inviting at all.
The shop is a waste of time and doesn't even have the essentials
The dining area is dirty and dark
Nearby activities: Your nearest shop is about a 20 minutes drive away and does stock most items but are pricey. The nearest supermarket is about 40 minutes away. But there is nothing else nearby
Safety: They don't care about people's safety
Walkability: You can walk around the park but if you need anything you must drive.
Not recommended for wheelchair users or people with mobility issues
Food & drinks: The food was OK not anything special. The poor staff in the kitchen were over worked and poorly managed.
Drinks weren't the best, tasted like they were cheaper alternatives and watered down.
Noteworthy details: This place has so much potential if the owners actually spent money in there and please be expected to be bombarded with emails, messages and leaflets all about buying a caravan on their site. This is all they seemed to care about.
